In 1959, a young man named Fred Beans took his first step into the automotive world with little more than a dream, a borrowed signature, and a relentless work ethic. At just 21 years old, Fred purchased a small service station in Yardley, Pennsylvania — with his mother co-signing the loan that would change his life forever. That modest station became the foundation for something extraordinary. From those early days of renting and leasing vehicles, Fred discovered his passion for helping people get on the road — and his first taste of the business that would one day carry his name across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

A Handshake That Started It All

In 1972, with the simple power of a handshake, Fred became a 25% partner in Bill Marsh Ford of Newtown. It wasn’t a corporate acquisition or a multimillion-dollar deal — just a handshake rooted in trust and integrity. That dealership, still thriving today, became the cornerstone of what would grow into one of the region’s most respected and recognized names in automotive retail.

From One Station to 30 Dealerships — and Counting

What began as one small service station has grown into a network of more than 30 dealerships, stretching from Mechanicsburg to Flemington and beyond. Over five decades, Fred Beans Automotive Group has become a powerhouse — not through shortcuts or luck, but through hard work, family values, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by our customers.Today, the Beans family continues to lead with the same principles that started it all — honesty, integrity, and community care. Fred works closely with his daughter, Beth, and son-in-law, Chris, ensuring that every decision, big or small, reflects the family’s enduring values and vision for the future.
